A Florida state senator who pushed for a necessary “Victims of Communism Day” in public universities has been tapped as the Sunshine State’s upcoming training chief.
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday formally recommended Manny Diaz to provide as Florida’s new Education Commissioner.
A Republican from Hialeah Gardens and a former significant school instructor and assistant principal, Diaz would be the initial Hispanic to serve in the job.
“Manny Díaz has performed a great career in the Legislature on education problems ranging from trainer pay to parental rights and preference,” DeSantis claimed in a assertion. “I am self-confident that he will provide our point out properly as the Commissioner of Instruction.”
