Fromkin named VSU’s major College or university of Humanities and Social Sciences graduate | Schooling

VALDOSTA — Kimberly Christine Fromkin of Thomasville is the receiver of the Spring 2021 President’s Award for Academic Excellence for the University of Humanities and Social Sciences at Valdosta State College.

The President’s Award for Academic Excellence is presented to the graduating student with the optimum quality level ordinary in each of VSU’s 6 colleges – Harley Langdale Jr. Higher education of Enterprise Administration, School of Nursing and Wellness Sciences, School of the Arts, James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar School of Instruction and Human Expert services, Higher education of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science and Arithmetic.

Fromkin will be identified during VSU’s 231st Commencement at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May possibly 8, at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. She will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Research and a concentration in Women’s and Gender Reports.

“Being named the top graduate of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has been rather overpowering and surreal,” she explained. “When I began this journey four years ago, after raising most of my youngsters, I did not established out to be the top rated of anything at all. I took my time and planned to graduate in six decades, not 4. I strove to be the very best me that I could be.

“Every semester came with its worries. I looked at each endeavor as a new journey. I have surprised myself, actually. I exceeded my individual anticipations and limits. I enrolled in lessons that I did not even assume I could move, much fewer make an A. I took each and every assignment significantly, I questioned lots of thoughts, I received to know my professors, and I listened to their wisdom. I took the time to learn, and I worked pretty tough at it.

“My VSU knowledge has been remarkable. I can only hope that as I continue on my academic route I will encounter professors as great as the types I have experienced at VSU. My professors have not only been fantastic supporters, but I am also convinced they know almost everything about their fields and then some.
